Center for Innovative Drug Discovery (CIDD), a joint venture between The University of Texas at San Antonio and UT Health San Antonio, is composed of two facilities: a High-Throughput Screening (HTS) Facility located at UT Health San Antonio and a Medicinal Chemistry and Synthesis Core Facility at UTSA.
Magnetic Resonance Lab
The Magnetic Resonance Laboratory operated by Dr. Daniel Wherritt and Dr. Amin Liu consists of three NMR and two EPR instruments for a variety of chemical applications. Auto-samplers on the NMRs facilitate rapid screening the Bruker E560 EPR has a cryogen free cryostat and ENODR accessory.
Mass Spectrometry Core
The Mass Spectrometry Core is operated by Dr. Wendell Griffith and consists of multiple high-resolution instruments such as the Thermo-Fisher Orbitrap Elite sytem with ETD, Bruker MaXis Q-TOF and Bruker UltrafleXtreme MALDI-TOF/TOF. From proteomics to small molecules, the core is capable of handling a variety of chemical problems.
