UTSA Hosts the 3rd International Symposium on Carbene and Nitrene Chemistry

primary

From February 5th to today, February 7th, the UTSA Chemistry Department has had the honor of hosting the 3rd International Symposium on Carbene and Nitrene Chemistry at the historic Menger Hotel in downtown San Antonio. The event was packed with “heavy hitters” in the field giving outstanding seminars on their cutting-edge research and capabilities. This was truly a time where everyone with like minds could come together, share ideas, and even have some good fun and entertainment. While you can view more details on our website, we’ve selected a few pictures to share that encompasses the spirit of the event!¬†

Dr. Janine Cossy gave a striking plenary address on Nitrenes, Carbenes, and their use in accessing functionalized heterocycles.

Everyone gets into the Texas spirit at the conference dinner at the Menger Hotel!

Dr. Doyle ran a very smooth conference and our very own Dr. Frantz gave an inspiring talk. The poster session was packed with attendees who shared their research in a positive and exciting atmosphere.

What a success!
