Chemistry Professor and Lutcher Brown Distinguished Chair in Biochemistry, Dr. Aimin Liu, received a $1.3 million grant from the NIH to study heme-dependent chemistry in tyrosine oxidation. Dr. Aimin Liu’s research group focuses on “how biomolecules utilize metals to perform the chemistry necessary for life”. Their work on metalloenzymes and metalloproteins is internationally recognized and published in highly regarded peer reviewed journals.
